Ecru Budget Announcements

Production Time:

  • The normal production time on this announcement is 3 business days after the order is finalized. Production time does not include shipping time, nor does it include the day your order is placed.
  • A variety of shipping options are offered in the checkout area.
  • If we need to contact you about your text, the production time does not begin until we have received a response from you.
  • We do offer a RUSH option an this announcement, which speeds up the production time. It saves you at least one day and costs $15.00.

What's Included (Please read carefully):

  • The Budget Announcements are folded panel cards with the text printed on the front. There is nothing "inside" the announcement; this is a very simple, traditional design. You may slip an open house card or photo inside if you wish, but there is no printing on the inside.
  • Raised ink (thermography) is used to print your text. Thermography has been the standard for graduation announcements for many years; it has a distinctive look and feel.
  • Black ink is included in the listed price; you may select other ink colors for an additional charge of $5.95.
  • Use any of the lettering styles we offer. You have the option of using a larger font for the student or school name, or using "combination lettering" so that the name is in a different font. There is no charge to use a combination of two lettering styles.
  • You may use one of our suggested texts for the inside of the card, or write your own. This card has room for 15 lines of text, with 35 characters and spaces per line.
  • The announcements are shipped flat and are scored for folding. This card is a single-thickness cardstock with just one score. It is not difficult or time-consuming to fold. See this page for more information about folding.
  • After folding, they measure 5 7/8" x 4 1/2". They are slightly smaller than the cards found in the Classic and Deluxe sections.

Envelopes and Name Cards:

  • This announcement comes with matching ecru single envelopes. If you have questions about addressing the envelopes or wonder when you should mail your announcements, see our etiquette page.
  • The order form offers the option of purchasing matching inner envelopes. They are $2.00 per package of 25.
  • The order form also offers a single lined envelope in place of the unlined envelope that is normally included. The liners are available in wine, black, hunter and matte gold.
  • Envelope printing is available for an additional charge and is offered at the bottom of the order form, just below the "add to cart" button for the announcements.
  • Budget Announcements do NOT have slots for name cards, but name cards may be used with them, if desired, by placing them on top of the announcement with the student's name facing up. Name cards are a separate product. They are offered at the bottom of the order form, and in this section of our site.

We can e-mail you a black and white .pdf proof after your announcement is typeset, however, it will add three days to the time it takes to fill your order. The proof takes two to three days, and then once we have your approval, the normal time for printing requires another three days. The proof is simply a way to view the final layout of the text in the letterstyle you've chosen. This is normally NOT necessary unless you are unsure about the lettering style or details of the layout. We "proofread" your text (and let you know if we have questions) regardless of whether or not you elect to view a final typeset "proof."

For help with the wording, you may copy and paste from our page of text suggestions. This design has room for 15 lines, and 35 characters and spaces per line.

Your text will be centered on the announcement, and the lines will be spread out so that they fill the space on the card appropriately.

If you would like to have a blank line within the text (such as before the parent's names at the bottom), write "skipped line" on the line that is to be left blank.
If your text has fewer lines than the number of text boxes provided, put an "X" in the extra boxes at the bottom that you don't need.

After working with thousands of customer's announcement texts, we have definite opinions about what looks best. Our customers accept 98% of our suggested changes, and we've never heard from anyone who wished they had not accepted our suggestions. To expedite your order, do we have your permission to make MINOR changes to the text without contacting you? Minor changes include:
  • Punctuation that does not change the meaning (punctuation is not normally used at the end of lines)
  • Capitalization to coincide with accepted use on social announcements
  • Moving a word from one line to another to improve the appearance or reading of the text.
  • Writing out abbreviated words -- 'Street' instead of 'St.,' or 'Tennessee' instead of TN.
  • Removing zip code from the address information -- zip code is not normally included.
  • Adding periods between the letters of acronyms for legibility if a script style lettering is chosen.
We will never change the spelling of names or places, we do not attempt to verify any addresses you've provided, and we will not rewrite your text. If we have suggestions beyond the minor ones listed above, we will contact you, so it is very important to give us accurate contact information when you go through the shopping cart, and then check your e-mail and voice mail. If we have questions about your text, we'll let you know, normally in the evening of the day you order.

These announcements come with single ecru envelopes which are unlined. If you would like us to substitute a single envelope that is LINED with a matte foil liner, you may select that option from the list below. The liners are offered in wine, black, hunter and matte gold. This option adds $4.25 per package of 25. (Note: if you plan to use the single lined envelope, we recommend that you use an envelope seal to close the envelope. If you simply wet the gummed edge and seal it in the normal fashion, your guest will tear it open at the top and not see the liner.)


These announcements include the outer envelopes only. If you would like to add inner envelopes to your order, they are available and may be ordered here. They are $.08 per envelope, sold in packages of 25. If inner envelopes are desired, select the quantity here.


Regardless of what envelope option you have decided on, if you'd like to get some extras to have on hand in case of an error, select them from this list. What you select here is shipped IN ADDITION to the quantity that comes with your announcements.
