Layout A - Single Photo

 

Production Time:

  • Once we have your photo and your text is finalized, we will send you the proof in 3 - 6 business days (3 days for electronic photos and 6 days for physically mailed photos). Once you approve the proof, the order normally ships on the 3rd business day after the proof approval.
  • Production time does not include shipping time, nor does it include the day your order is placed. To allow plenty of time, we recommend that you order photo announcements 3 weeks before you plan to mail them out. (If you are planning to physically mail the photo, add a week to this estimate.)
  • A variety of shipping options are offered in the checkout area.
  • If we need to contact you about your text, we normally do it in the first 24 hours after you place the order. The production time does not begin until we have received a response from you, if necessary, and have your photo in a usable format.

What's Included (Please read carefully):

  • Photo announcements are printed on heavy, glossy, card stock.This card includes the black outer jacket. See our other order form if you are looking for the card without the jacket.
  • Printing is flat, colored ink.
  • Every Photo Announcement includes a black and white .pdf proof of the announcement before it is printed. This allows you to see the layout, cropping, and typesetting before printing, and to make changes if needed.
  • You may choose from a number of "background colors" for this announcement. The background color is the color for the box directly to the right of the large photo. The black areas of the card remain black regardless of your background color selection.
  • Layout A, which is the only one offered with the jacket, has one photo and the "Clas of..." design on the left side of the photo.
  • The "Class of..." design and the layout of the photo may not be removed or changed.
  • Use any of the lettering styles for the text.
  • You may use one of our suggested texts, or write your own. This card has room for 10 lines of text, with 35 characters and spaces per line.
  • The card measures 4" x 9.25".
  • This item comes with single white envelopes as well as the black jacket. If you have questions about addressing the envelopes or wonder when you should mail your announcements, see our etiquette page.
  • Envelope printing is available for an additional charge and is offered at the bottom of the order form.

Your Photo:

  • It is best to discuss the use of the photo with the photographer before having a professional photo taken. Often a photographer is much more willing to allow the use of the photo(s) if they are approached before a decision is made to have them take the photos.
  • We must have an authorization form for your photo. You may print it from this page and fax it to us, or enclose it with a photo that is being sent by mail. If you are e-mailing your photo, you may scan and e-mail the form to us. If it is one you have taken yourself, you sign it. If it is taken by someone else, professional or not, they must sign it. This lets us know that you have permission to use the photo.
  • Photos may be sent to us digitally or through the mail. If you send your photo by mail, DO NOT send an irreplaceable original photo. We will make every effort to return them, but we cannot guarantee the mail service.
  • If submitting a digital photo, it must be between 300 dpi and 600 dpi and at least as large as the finished photo will be when printed.
  • Photos are printed as submitted; they are not "touched up" or "improved." If you send a poor quality photo or one that is too dark, you will not be happy with the finished product.Our order form asks if you'd like to have us change the two smaller photos on layout B to black and white.(There is no charge to do so.) If you do not select this option, the photos will be printed in the color format in which they are submitted,

  • On the evening of the day your order is placed (and paid for), you will get an e-mail from us about the order. If you plan to e-mail the photo, do so by replying to that e-mail from us.

Main Announcement Text:
For help with the wording, you may copy and paste from our page of text suggestions. This design has room for 10 lines, and 35 characters and spaces per line.

Your text will be centered on the announcement, and the lines will be spread out so that they fill the space on the card appropriately.

If you would like to have a blank line within the text (such as before the parent's names at the bottom), write "skipped line" on the line that is to be left blank.
If your text has fewer lines than the number of text boxes provided, put an "X" in the extra boxes at the bottom that you don't need.

Corner copy is a line of type set off to the left in a smaller type size. It is normally used to say "Reception following" or 'R.s.v.p. by____'. If you would like corner copy, you must PROVIDE the text for the corner copy on the last line above. Selecting corner copy means you have one less line available for the text. (Tip: Remember, an Open House, by definition, should not require an R.s.v.p.)

After working with thousands of customer's announcement texts, we have definite opinions about what looks best. Our customers accept 98% of our suggested changes, and we've never heard from anyone who wished they had not accepted our suggestions. To expedite your order, do we have your permission to make MINOR changes to the text without contacting you? Minor changes include:
  • Punctuation that does not change the meaning (punctuation is not normally used at the end of lines)
  • Capitalization to coincide with accepted use on social announcements
  • Moving a word from one line to another to improve the appearance or reading of the text.
  • Writing out abbreviated words -- 'Street' instead of 'St.,' or 'Tennessee' instead of TN.
  • Removing zip code from the address information -- zip code is not normally included.
  • Adding periods between the letters of acronyms for legibility if a script style lettering is chosen.
We will never change the spelling of names or places, we do not attempt to verify any addresses you've provided, and we will not rewrite your text. If we have suggestions beyond the minor ones listed above, we will contact you, so it is very important to give us accurate contact information when you go through the shopping cart, and then check your e-mail and voice mail. If we have questions about your text, we'll let you know, normally in the evening of the day you order.

Before submitting your order, please go back to the top and proofread it. Be sure that you have made a selection from each of the required options, and that you have NOT typed the order in all capital letters. To expedite your order, we suggest that you take a minute to read through our proofreading guide. When you are sure that the order is correct, check the box and continue.

This item requires 3 business days for the proof (3 days if the photo is submitted electronically, and 6 days if it is physically mailed to us), and then 3 full business days of production once you approve the proof is approved. The shipping time is in addition to proof and production times. You may select your desired shipping method when you check out. The first day of production is the first business day after the order is "finalized," which means that we have your paid order, your photo in the correct format, and have received a response from you to any questions about the order. Because we require that you view and approve the proof before printing, it is extremely important that you give us good contact information when you check out, and that you check your voice mail and e-mail daily. Unfortunately, there is no RUSH offered on photo announcements.
